Thomas A. Lawler, J.D. (Retired)
Admitted to Iowa Bar in 1972. A member of the Iowa State Bar Association, the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel, the Iowa Academy of Trust and Estate Counsel, the American Agricultural Law Association, and the American Bar Association. Has served as City Attorney for Parkersburg, New Hartford, Stout, Aredale, and Greene. Authored the Iowa Legal Forms Probate Manual, 1987. Has taught Agricultural Law course at Hawkeye Community College. Education: St. Ambrose (B.S., 1968); Catholic University of America (J.D., 1971).

Debra Oelmann
Has worked with the firm since 1985 and is now a part-time legal assistant. Works primarily in Real Estate, Probate, and Taxation research. Recently became an IRS Registered Tax Return Preparer. Enjoys reading and spending time with her granddaughters.

Jodie Jensen-Scoles
A new addition to the firm in June of 2015, Jodie lives in Aplington and brings 24+ years of legal assistant experience to Lawler & Swanson, PLC. Enjoys camping and fishing with her husband, children and step-children, 7 grandchildren and dog, Louie.
